Herring Cures

Our Herring Cure can be used as both a brine and a cure for herring, anchovies or sardines.

We offer our Herring Cure in 6 different colors: Natural, Slime-Lime, Indigo Blue, Lucky Green, Pinkish-Red Radzberry and Purplelicious. If you are using really good fresh baits, you would want to use as a brine, rather than a cure. Whichever method you use, you will never be disappointed with the results!

The Perfect Brine Every Time

Method 1:

In a one gallon container, add 2 quarts of purified, non-chlorinated water (river water is best but distilled water will work) to 1-1/2 to 2 cups of Zilla Bait Herring Cure and stir until dissolved. Add 1 to 3 dozen bait, cover and refrigerate. Your bait will be ready to fish after 4 hours and will keep (refrigerated or on ice) for up to a week.

Method 2

Place fresh, quality bait in a zip-lock bag or a container and sprinkle directly with Zilla Bait Herring Cure. If you are using a colored bait cure, add just enough water to get the dye to circulate around the bait. Let sit, refrigerated for 4 hours before fishing. Like method 1 above, your bait will keep (refrigerated or on ice) for up to a week.
